Thank you for your interest in potentially taking part in one of our currently ongoing studies here at the Psychological Intervention & Research Program on Mood Spectrum Disorders at UTHealth. Included below is a description of all studies that we are currently recruiting for. You will also have the opportunity to indicate whether you would like us to retain the information you provide for future studies with our lab that you may also be eligible for.

Establishing the Feasibility & Acceptance of a Virtual Environment to Implement Psychoeducation and Social Support for Individuals with Bipolar Disorder and their Partners:
This study will include both (1) individuals who have been provided with a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder at some point in their lifetime and (2) individuals who are spouses or partners of an individual with Bipolar Disorder. All individuals included in this study must be at least 18 years old and be able to understand, read, and speak English at a level to complete all tasks independently. Participants will be asked to watch a few videos guiding them through a Virtual Environment platform as well as answer a few questions about the videos (20-25 minutes) and join one focus group (1-1.5 hours, completed through video conference) which will entail providing feedback and suggestions about this Virtual Environment. All tasks asked of participants will be administered online and remotely, and compensation will be provided. We aim to use the feedback provided to alter this Virtual Environment to address the specific, unique needs of individuals with Bipolar Disorder and/or their partners and include it in future studies assessing it's feasibility for providing psychoeducation and social support.

Reasons for or Experiences with the Use of Classic Psychedelics in Individuals with Bipolar Disorder
This study will include individuals that (1) have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and (2) have either used or considered using a classic psychedelic such as LSD, DMT, Mescaline, or Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms) at some point in their lifetime. All individuals included in this study must be at least 18 years old and be able to understand, read, and speak English at a level to complete all tasks independently. Participants will be asked to share their opinions about psychedelics through one questionnaire (30-45 minutes) and one interview (2-3 hours, completed through video conference or phone call). All tasks asked of participants will be administered online and remotely, and compensation will be provided. We aim to use the information received to determine whether classic psychedelics could be included in future clinical trials as a treatment option for individuals with Bipolar Disorder.
